FIRST IMPRESSIONS & SWATCHES | Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eye Enhancing Kajal Eyeliner Trio
Thursday, February 05, 2015UnknownThose of you who follow me on Instagram would know that I was one of the winners of Physicians Formula's giveaway not too long ago. I finally received the product and thought I would do a quick review on my first impressions and swatches. You can purchase this set of eyeliners for $11.95 here, or it can be found at your local Ulta, and Wal-Mart.
First off, I am not in love with the packaging. It's very hard to work with since it can not stand up straight comfortably (it took A LOT of patience to get that top picture, lol), and when you try to lay it down, because of the unique shape of the tube, it wants to roll everywhere!
The shades included in the set are Natural Nude, Playful Mocha, and Dramatic Black. Unfortunately, you won't be able to purchase the eyeliners separately.
My favorite shade is Natural Nude. I love anything champagne! It would be gorgeous as just a single lid color if you're going for more of a natural look. The shade Playful Brown is not life changing. I feel like you can find this color almost anywhere, and from every brand. If you look at my swatch of Dramatic Black, there are very fine gold glitter particles in the formula. Just by looking at the product, you won't be able to see the glitter at all, so that was a nice little surprise for me. "A little glitter makes everything better." :) These eyeliners glide on smoothly and has a pretty good color payout. It's definitely not the most pigmented, but it doesn't disappoint, so I'm not complaining.
Something I did notice is that what you see is what you get. There is no more product hidden in the tube. And once the point of the eyeliner goes away, you won't be able to sharpen it. I suppose you can use a brush to get the product out but that just doesn't seem to be convenient at all, given the fact that it's suppose to be a product that glides on and not brushed on.
Overall, I say that if you're someone like me who likes to try out new products, then definitely get your hands on this because it's very different from other eyeliners. But if you're looking more for a go-to product, then maybe you should look into something that's more user-friendly.
Hope that helps!
